    Implicit Bias in the Workplace

    February 11th, 2020

Join Dr. Kim Wildey as he describes implicit biases in the workplace. See how individuals' subconscious might impact their work life, and how we can better understand that impact.

Dr. Kim Wildey was born in DeQueen, Arkansas in December of 1955, the very month and year when Rosa Parks quietly incited a revolution… just by sitting down.

Much of Dr. Kim’s life revolved around the black community even as a white person. Even his doctorate was awarded by Mt Carmel Theological Seminary, a black Bible college.

During the last three decades, Dr. Kim has been involved in management and is quite familiar with the issues that are common in the workplace. He likes to say that his 43 years of marriage to a woman who now accompanies him most everywhere have given him insight to how to make any relationship strong and performable.

His insights come from having worked with the black community (having co-lead the MLK march in Fresno one year), Hispanic (having worked in an Hispanic church), Native American (having worked with the Tachi Yokuts) and others. He is proud to be a member of BAR WE (Building Anti-Racist White Educators) and often says that sometimes it takes a white person to help other white people understand why “Black Lives Matter” is so important.

Dr. Kim believes that understanding race relations and learning how people think within differing ethnicity and cultures can reduce racial tension as well as boost productivity as well as… yes… sales.
