HR 2022: More of the Same or New to the Game

On Tuesday August 18th 2020 the SHRM of Tulare-Kings County Chapter recognized The Emerging  Human Resources Professional of the Year and the Human Resources Professional of the Year at the Marriott Hotel in Downtown Visalia.

The SHRM Tulare Kings Board created specific criteria in order for nominees to be eligible for the awards.

The emerging HR Professional of the year award is for an “up-and-coming” Human Resource Professional who has made promising contributions to their organization or the HR profession by utilizing innovative opportunities and creativity and have made notable professional accomplishments and/or innovations in the HR field.

These nominees inspire innovation, creativity, developments, and organizational excellence in their HR department. They have proven to make a significant impact on the business and positively affect the organizations’ success. Must have made worthwhile contributions to the community.

There were 2 Nominees for Emerging HR Professional of the Year

Jazmin Arana: HR Coordinator for California Dairies

Shonna Oneal:  HR Manager for the City of Exeter

About SHRM of Tulare/Kings County

SHRM of Tulare/Kings County was initially developed more than two decades ago under the name of Tulare-Kings Personnel Association.  The association was formed to serve the professional, educational and networking needs of Human Resource Professionals in the Tulare and Kings County areas.  In the early 2000’s the association decided a name change was in order and became SHRM of Tulare/Kings County.  The purpose of the Chapter is to provide:

  • A local forum for Human Resource Professional’s personal and professional development
  • Opportunities for members to develop leadership, managerial, public speaking and group
    decision making skills
  • A local networking arena for Human Resource and affiliated  Business Professionals
  • A focus for legislative attention regarding local, state and national human resource management issues

The SHRM T/K Chapter is an affiliate of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM®) and offers local Chapter membership discounts to those who are National SHRM members.

The SHRM T/K Chapter President serves on the California SHRM State Council (CalSHRM) as a representative for all Chapter Members and in some instances for the Human Resource Professionals in the area served.  For more information about CalSHRM, click here.
