Why HR Should Strategize & Make Goals

May 11th, 2021

Join us as Michelle Engel-Silva, ED.D, provides an insightful presentation on the importance of goal setting and strategizing in HR.

In this training, attendees will learn the importance of HR professionals being involved in the organization's strategic planning process.

In this training recipients will:

1) Learn how the pandemic shifted HR's strategies for the future.

2) Focus on the importance of employee engagement and connection in the strategic plan process.

3) Focus on human capital and its relationship to strategic goals (Putting the people component into priorities).

4) Learn how to be a strategic partner and effectively communicate HR strategies.

Michelle Engel-Silva, ED.D, has been working at Proteus Inc. for 25 years. In her career at Proteus, she has held different positions. She started as a Vocational Instructor, moved into a Program Manager position, and then became an Organizational Development Specialist. Next she took on the role of HR Director for 12 years and currently she is the Director of Operations for the corporation. One of her passions is training people. She has done several Proteus Leadership Academy training sessions, has trained for the Society of Human Resource Management, been an adjunct professor in the Business Department at Fresno State, and was a trainer at the WAFA conference last year. In the last 15 years, she has been a key corporate leader who has been working hand-in-hand with the Proteus Board of Directors. She has facilitated board strategic planning sessions and trained the Proteus Board on CSBG funding and organizational standards. She has also been instrumental in training the Proteus Board members on their roles and responsibilities in their board positions. Through humor and a participatory training strategy, Ms. Silva will engage the audience and facilitate a great learning experience.
