Join us as Jeana Brooks gives a powerful and motivational presentation on Human Resources Professionals, and the important role we play in the workplace. Her program titled, "Police or Partner: How You 'HR' Can Determine Your Role" will surely enlighten those who work in the HR field. This program will also be our annual HR awards luncheon. You won't want to miss it!
Jeana Brooks is the Human Resources and Communications Director at Proteus, Inc., where she has been employed for 24 years. She is also known to some by her pseudo name, “Workplace Wonda.”
A graduate of California State University, Fresno, Jeana received in B.A. in history with the goal of teaching history to high school students. Unfortunately, Jeana discovered after starting student observation a shocking revelation. She didn’t like teenagers!
Stumped on what to do next—and no backup plan in place, Jeana applied at Proteus, Inc., a local non-profit serving farmworkers and other disadvantaged populations.
It is there that she found her passion to serve and held several different job positions over the years until finally landing in Human Resources in 1999 as Employee Relations Analyst.
This position allowed her a lot of creative freedom and she was able to create an employee newsletter, internal and external websites, a leadership academy, employee recognition initiatives; along with conducting internal investigations, policy review, supervisory training and other “HR”y stuff.
A servant leader at heart, Jeana has had the pleasure to serve and guide the Proteus Human Resources and Marketing staff as their director since 2016. She has also been able to utilize her love of writing, humor and communications through her Workplace Wonda Blog, Monday Morning Moments articles and most recently, her weekly video chats.
