Beth Adler
Vice President Human Resources
Visalia Community Bank

BA Degree in Finance, Fresno State University

Shortly after graduating from Fresno State in June 1990, with a degree in Finance, Beth accepted a Personal Banking Officer position with the Tulare branch of Wells Fargo. Beth made the big move from Fresno to Visalia in early 1992.

In January, 1994, Beth accepted a Management Trainee position with Visalia Community Bank, Visalia's oldest locally owned community bank. In February, 1998 Beth was approached about becoming the Bank's Director of Human Resources in addition to maintaining my duties as the Compliance Officer. She accepted the offer and became the Bank's Vice President/Compliance Officer/Director of Human Resources.

Although Beth had had no formal training in Human Resources, she jumped right in to the position and learned as much as she could as fast as she could. As anyone in Human Resources will tell you, there was a lot to learn…there still is. It is a never-ending process. Earlier this year, Beth gave up her responsibilities as the Bank's Compliance Officer and became a full-time Director of Human Resources. The piles on her desk aren't as high, but her days are still very full and very busy!

Accomplishments/Positions Held:

  • In October, 2000, received the designation of Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager from the Institute of Certified Bankers. This is similar to the PHR/SPHR certification from the HRCI.
  • Served as Education Chair for SHRM of Tulare-Kings County, 2002

On a personal note, Beth and her husband, Alan will celebrate our ten-year anniversary in January. They met at Fresno State while attending college. We are planning a trip to Hawaii in July to celebrate!
